The following opinions and commentaries are those of Angel De Fazio, B.S.A.T., President of the NTEF and do not reflect the views of the Foundation. As such they are fully covered by the first amendment.

What is the price others pay, because of  the ignorance of the users of the toxins, that they have been deceived to believe are safe by the fragrance and cosmetics industry, while blindly applying them to their bodies?   What gives the fragrance and cosmetic industry the right to harm, injure, disable or even kill the public?

The Cosmetics and Fragrance industry are loosely regulated and even those regulations they refuse to abide by.  They are suppose to test their products and the groups that are suppose to oversee the industry are actually composed of members from the same industry.  This is analogous to the fox guarding the hen house.

They test individual chemicals and less than half of the ones utilized by the industry have been tested for safety.  There are no independent tests done on the finished products for their synergist effects.  It is impossible to assume that there are no interactions with the individual chemicals in a mixture.

I can speak of first hand knowledge regarding Clarins Angel Perfume.  They have falsified court documents, regenerated MSDS sheets, lied to their stockholders, hidden from the public known health hazards associated with this product, created a bogus flash point on their MSDS, violated both federal labeling laws and import documentation. Their own testing laboratory in Paris admitted in 1999 that this product caused cellular necrosis of the cornea cells in the eyes.  Their dermal skin testing was done on pre-screened subjects which automatically invalidated that study.

They intentionally provided to their uneducated perfume demonstrators misleading sales pitch information about this product.  To describe this products scent as one of vanilla, chocolate when in reality the actual ingredients carry descriptions of having an odor similar to that of turpentine.

Since there are ingredients in Angel Perfume that carry warnings of harmful on the MSDS did they notify the public? No.  They hid this information under the generic umbrella of "fragrance" on the packaging.

Do they have the MSDS available for the public to make informed choices prior to purchasing this product? No.  It is impossible to get them to disclose this even when asked.  How far did Clarins go to cover up how dangerous this product really was?  They provided a MSDS document and refused to acknowledge that there were other pages associated with this sheet, even though the MSDS clearly stated that further information was available on subsequent pages.  Even when prompted during litigation, they turned around and intentionally manufactured a false and misleading second MSDS document that from a basic medical standpoint had basic anatomical inaccuracies, such as the intermingling of various systems in the body. There were intentional deviations from the facts that they officially signed off on in their stockholders financial reports compared to the MSDS they provided.

Since Clarins in 2005 finally ceased their distribution contract with Proctor and Gamble, was part of this distribution contract to provide the fragrance for the Bounce Dryer Sheet line?  With the increasing number of people who have severe reactions, when exposed to those who use Bounce and the daily reports I receive regarding the adverse reactions to Angel Perfume, one can only speculate.

Clarins when was interviewed by "The Rose Sheet" in the November 6, 2006, issue regarding the press release about their products being misbranded, claimed that they are "preparing a response to the accusations".  Well Clarins, it's almost five months and you still can not answer the accusations.  Aside from lying to your stockholders, consumers, now you are even lying to your own industry  when will you start telling the truth?

Clarins aside from lying to the public about Angel Perfume, they have gone so far as to lie on their own website regarding their cosmetics line.  Known eye irritants in an eye makeup remover product is inexcusable.

Come April, 2007, Clarins which has the licensing for the Thierry Mugler fragrance line, is planning on introducing worldwide and in the United States in September, 2007, two new PHEW-fumes or is it two new poisons?  Thierry Mugler appears to be obsessed with patchouli as it appears to be pervasive in both his male and female fragrance lines.

One has to ask, why does Clarins fund research into Polyarthritis? Is it  because members of their own family are affected? Could it be that the Courtin-Clarins family uses their own products and that the products actually caused harm to their own family members?  Considering all the known toxins and health risks associated with their products, it is not unreasonable to conclude that this condition is exacerbated by and perhaps even caused by their products. Polyarthritis is an auto-immune disorder involving five or more joints. Can their products cause an exacerbation? One can only wonder.

It is this authoress opinion that Clarins has to be taken to task at the federal level for all their wanton and overt violations of federal labeling laws.  There are potential life threatening reactions associated with their products that contain either peanuts or peanut oil.  The FDA required starting on January 1, 2006 that all products that contain one of the eight known allergens be clearly identified on the label.  Clarins seems to feel that peanuts, which are known as groundnuts in France, are not a known health risk and have refused to visibly notify the consumer of their incorporation into five of their products. The peanuts and peanut oils are only generically listed under ingredients.

Clarins strives to be the leading cosmetics and fragrance company worldwide.  With all the information acquired during litigation they have provided the future foundation for a federal lawsuit.

Clarins you will become the ultimate leader, the one leading your industry to either comply or cease poisoning the public. I personally will be pursuing this to the next level to protect the public.

 Zurich was unable to protect you at the county level by the worldwide disclosure of your lies and deception to the public.  Now, we shall see if they can protect you at the federal level.  Maybe Zurich this time will employ competent legal counsel other than Janet Pancoast, Esq., who because of being scientifically deficient caused your secrets to become public knowledge, a FDA petition confirming the misbranding of your product and ultimately the federal litigation action.

July 1, 2008:

Clarins claims it is banking on it's Double Serum Generation 6 to be highly successful.  What they neglected to mention, is that this same product was seized and returned to them for MISLABELING! 

I guess we will be analyzing this product for drug versus cosmetic claims.

April 18, 2008:

One can only speculate that either the economy is finally hitting the poison purveyors or the public is getting wise to their deceptive marketing tactics .  As Clarins stock: Clarins SA which had been averaging high $59/share has now dropped to the low $40/share since late November to early December 2007. 

I have to reiterate...Where is your 2007 comprehensive Annual Report?  What are you trying to hide or are you afraid that you will be turned over to the Securities and Exchange Commission if I find any mistakes? 

March 15, 2008:

With the elections just months away and both candidates for the Democratic nomination viciously attacking each others "stand", why are they leaving out science, the environment and health?  I am not talking about access to health care, I am referencing why are they not focusing trying to reduce health related problems.

Bush already is giving his "usual" edge to industry by increasing the "so called safe levels" of ozone through his industry protected agency the EPA. The EPA in reality stand for Everyone Protects Assets Agency.

One has to ask when did our government go from "for the people" to for the corporate bottom line.

November 25, 2007:

Rumor has it that Clarins is to be bought out by L'Oreal, so does that mean that L'Oreal is going to be hawking their newly acquired toxic products? Or are they going to wisen up and make them less toxic and try to actually try using truth in advertising?

Or will they BOTH finally sign onto the Safe Cosmetics Campaign? 

Clarins is getting desperate behind the scenes, how do I know?  Simple, they are trying to find a law firm to try to save them with the FDA along with trying to find a Public Relations firm to try and do neutralization media activity regarding their soon publicity regarding the outcome of the FDA investigation into their FRAUD and DECEPTION to the American public.

Yes, Clarins, I know everything, your actions, moves etc.  Remember there is a very famous New York adage "keep your friends close and your enemies closer".  I'll let you extrapolate which one you are.

It took five years, but, I was able to finally prove the toxicity of your poisons! The current petition is just one of MANY to be forwarded to our regulatory agency.  Keep lying and harming the American public and we will keep coming after you with aggressive determination to save the health of our citizens!

October 25, 2007:

The internet is a wealth of opportunity to obtain information on almost any subject, ability to meet people from all cultures, interact with others who share the same hobbies, health concerns et al.  Then to those who are con artists it is a venue to obtain wealth by their deceptive practices and the violation of trust placed in them by their "victims". 

The community that is primarily composed of "victims of industry" are very sick and seek to gain knowledge from others suffering from the same illness. When you have a "plant", who is a person with no verifiable presence except on the internet, masquerades as a non-profit organization to seek donations, refuses to meet with those she professes to help, they need to be taken to task.

Rather than give this "plant" any further "presence", her unraveling, disclosure can be found by those she has deceived and those who seek to reveal her true identity.  Fortunately, this foundation was not going to stand for her deception to others and has confronted this "plant" and has had her latest goal thwarted, by having experts remove themselves from any association with her or her current "mission".

Her "story" is riddled with lies, inconsistencies, failure to be documented anywhere that she claimed to be "associated" with.  Who is this person?  It is *MY* opinion that she is a "plant" from either a defense law firm or from the chemical industry to try and obtain knowledge to circumvent the victims that they injured from seeking compensation.

Her appearance began about 2-3 years ago and has escalated into one of the biggest pack of lies imaginable. 

NOTE to her "EMPLOYER" the poisoned community will uncover who you are no matter how careful you think you are. 

How stupid can you be, to think that by claiming to be a registered corporation that the Secretary of State would not have a record of it? 

"LS" you need to go away...you made one major screw up that no one is discussing publicly...your little group of followers, will not get you that information...the clock is ticking on your identity...tick tock, tick tock...

August 24, 2007:

Given the correlation between weight and air fresheners, one has to wonder are those women/men who utilize them victims of their own ignorance? 

Since air fresheners have perfume/fragrances in them with the ingredients not being fully disclosed under guide of propriety blend, be a contributing factor for the increase of obesity in the world?

It would be an interesting survey to see how many of these obese people actually are addicted to their air fresheners and perfumes!  Since a preponderance of the chemicals are endocrine disruptors it would account for their excess adipose.

April 3, 2007:

It's not nice to talk ill of the dead, but, the following needs to be addressed!

These are my opinions of how the media is portraying the man and how I feel about his chemical empire's assault upon the world. Therefore, if you disagree with them that is your right, as it is MY RIGHT to express them.

Point to ponder...in Financial Times Business News, where they reported the death of Clarins founder, Jacques Courtin-Clarins  it was stated "which Mr Courtin initially tested on himself – ", so one has to ask, did the poisons he inflicted on to the public contribute to his death?  As this authoress could not find a cause of death.

In the CNW Group, they stated "who was a humanist and knew how to listen to
his fellow human beings, to understand their needs and seek to satisfy them
out of pure generosity", did this understanding encompass hiding the fact his perfume kills ocular cells? If he was seeking to satisfy his "fellow human beings needs", why didn't he stop making the TOXIC PERFUME KNOWN AS ANGEL?

One has to ask, why doesn't the Courtin-Clarins family actually FOLLOW that statement and SIGN THE SAFE COSMETICS CAMPAIGN! Our NEEDS are for SAFE AND NON TOXIC cosmetics, not blatant LIES about them being so "NATURAL and BOTANICALLY" based!

Does Thierry Mugler actually use a 16 year old virgins NAVEL secretions  for his fragrance Aura or it is strictly fiction?

There is a detailed article by Isabelle Cerboneschi in Le Temps about the perfumery work that went into the creation of the Das Parfum collection of 15 fragrances by Thierry Mugler based on Perfume, The History of a Murderer by Patrick Süskind.

....The 15 perfumes are in chronological order: Baby, Paris 1738, Atelier Grimal, Boutique Baldini, Virgin no 1, Amor & Psyché, Nuit Napolitaine, Ermite, Salon Rouge, Human Existence, Absolu Jasmin, Sea, Noblesse, Orgie, and Aura.

What self respecting person would actually want to apply an odor reminiscent of a minor?  Is Thierry Mugler catering to the sick desires of a pedophile? One can only speculate.
